Today, officials from the Popular Union of Occitania, specifically from the Constituent Republic of New Occitanian Granada, have declared the independence of the Second Republic of Gran Colombia.
This is due to the fact that the unstable government of Occitania is unsuitable for the political climate of the Latin-American state, and that the people of said state have had enough of european rule.
The Republic has also annexed a small stretch of territory to its south, consisting of ten square metres of Territory formerly in control of the Principality of Andany and the Millanian Empire, but formally released by Millania and never annexed by Andany, leaving it open territory under no jurisdiction.
The declaration is as follows:
We, The People of the Great Colombia, declare our independence from the rule of the Popular Union of Occitania. We are a people that cannot rest with a dormant government, which turns a blind eye to our needs and wants, which is inactive in many senses. We seek acceptance from our bretheren and kin of the international community, and the world. We hope that one day our forefathers in the Pyrenees recognize our republic, and reply with peaceful means.
NOTE: The Republic has also declared Pasabrilloía its National Newspaper and Press.
