Two Territories Admitted into Millania

In the past week, two new territories have officially been admitted into the Empire after weeks of stalling Government activity due to the coronavirus. The new Dominion of San Pedro consists of a residential property in central Florida, while the Overseas Territory of Terryshire-Upon-Chelmer, named after the Emperor of Essexia, was annexed after a joint military operation two months prior where the Essexian Armed Forces, with support from the Millanian Navy, successfully captured Friendship Bridge from the United Kingdom.

The operation, dubbed "the Siege of Friendship Bridge" by Admiralty, saw one per cent of the bridge ceded to Millania as a sign of alliance between the two Empires. Between the time of annexation and admission, the territory was an Occupied Administrative Region of the Navy.

The annexation of Terryshire opened an opportunity for Essexians to obtain Millanian Nationality through the first ever bout of citizenship by registry. Since then, six Essexians have registered, and the Immigration Office has noted to the Herald that it expects that more will apply over the next month. Terryshire will also be the first territory to have its own assembly of over one member.

San Pedro, officially San Pedro de las Indias Millanias, is the newest Dominion of the Empire, whose Captain General, Jack Satterfield, annexed to the Empire. The Dominion will also become the heart of Millania's newest fleet, the Caribbean Fleet. The fleet consists of eleven new ships, one of which, the F.A.R. San Pedro, is a seven-meter motorized ship from bow to stern, the first of its kind in Millania. A ship twice that size is also under plans to be christened.
